VERNON STAKE YOUTH PIONEER TREK 2013

I was excited to be asked to make a pioneer slideshow for our Vernon Stake using my friend Blyn Loewen's pictures with some of my own. I'm grateful that I'd already made one months ago, my Pioneer Trek Video 2013 because it gave me good practice!

It was fun to see this one on the big screen in Vernon at our youth fireside. My thanks go out to all the leaders who did so much work to make this possible and of course to all our wonderful youth who showed up eager and enthusiastic and made this trek a positive enriching experience!!! We made some amazing memories, grew in faith and testimony and gained a new appreciation for our pioneer ancestors!

Seattle Temple Trip 2010

So grateful we could join the youth on their temple trip last weekend. It was our last Stake Temple trip because our new one in Langley is being dedicated this May. There wasn't room on the bus so Don and I drove down in our van with the Fraziers. I'm glad I could be there with Rebecca, I coudn't be there for her first trip so this was a wonderful memory for me. I think she had a great time.....
My fourth baby girl who is no longer a baby!

Couldn't resist taking this picture of the twins, Katelyn and Alyssa Chenuz, they are such sweethearts. I was bummed because I didn't have my SLR with me and my little Canon has been giving me trouble lately. Sometimes it turns on, sometimes it doesn't.  Well it wasn't working until everyone had already posed, then of course it worked after....so I just had to get a few pictures in before we went inside. I wasn't very good about getting pictures this trip, sometimes I really work at and sometimes I don't.
Also, crazy I know but I was happy to stop at Costco and buy cheese! It's so much cheaper in the States.....I think I bought like 30 lbs!!

A big thank you to Jack Sabey and all the leaders that went along and did so much work!!

Tubing and Talents

This last weekend we spent Saturday in Vernon at the Silver Star Skiiing resort where we had a Stake youth tubing activity! Here's Vanessa with a group of friends, they had a blast tubing all afternoon, then we went back to the church where we had a big chili dinner and a talent show. Our youth are such a wonderful audience!....and there were so many fun talents to watch from tap dancing, singing, monologues and bands......Vanessa played the piano while her friend Theresa sang the song "Hurt" by Christina Aguilera. They did a wonderful job! Don and I love to go even with all the driving...... the youth are so enthusiastic and fun. We also enjoy visiting with other Stake leaders, we have some wonderful, dedicated leaders in our Stake.
