LIGHT PAINTING A PURSE

We had a fun photography class this week on Tuesday at TRU where we learned to light paint! I wasn't quite sure what our professor was talking about even though she showed us a video on light painting but once we turned out the light, put our cameras on the tables to steady them (should have brought a tripod) and then turned the shutter speed way down, we had fun. The hardest part was trying to focus our cameras in the dark, we had to to focus quickly while the flashlight was on them and then hope the picture was in focus. One of our fellow students also showed where the "bulb" button was on our cameras ( I have a Canon EOS XS, yes I know pretty basic but it has taken some pretty sweet pictures for me over the years!) and so we were happily trying that. Have to admit, not many of mine turned out but the couple that did made me happy. Here's my favourite!!

FAMILY HERO PICTURES....

I was thrilled to take some pictures of my friend Wendy and her family when she asked! She is expecting a new baby soon and so this a fun shoot to do, especially because her little fellow was really good about posing!  Her husband was patient and willing bless his heart and I was soooo happy with some of the pictures I was able to get. Luckily, her little fellow insisted they bring their capes and it made for the perfect shot! Parents really are the "super heros" to a happy family!!!

Thanks Wendy.....you have a beautiful family and this baby will be so blessed!

ENGAGEMENT PICTURES.... EMMA DUNCAN AND EVAN PHILIP

I was happy to get together last month with Evan and Emma to take some engagement pictures down at Riverside Park before their wedding the week after.  Emma is always laughing and so it was fun to get some pictures of her so happy! Luckily the rain held off long enough that I was able to get some cute shots of them, even when it was colder than we were expecting. Evan was a trooper, but I think he might have preferred wearing something a little warmer!! I always have fun with the pictures after and I used some PW actions on these.....

HALLOWEEN 2012

Well it was certainly a quiet Halloween last night at our house although we had a record number of kids at the door! Mitchell had decided not to go trick or treating to my surprise! So he stayed home with me and let me answer the door, even though it was often a group of cute girls hoping to catch a glimpse of him! Thank goodness Melodie stopped by and told him to come trick or treating with her. So he quickly threw on a pink cowboy hat, pink bandana and his BB gun and off they went. I think Melodie was glad she grabbed this wig because it made it hard to guess how old she was...apparently she hadn't been trick or treating in about 8 years. He came home a happy boy with a bag full of treats, just enough to be fun but not so much to be sick!

So there you go Mitchell....I know it's hard to have 4 sisters, but they do come in handy sometimes.

By the way, I couldn't post the pink...a cowboy needs to be country, in sepia...

I SHOT THAT

Having a great time with my I SHOT THAT Iphone photography class! I have downloaded new apps and trying to take more pictures. Definitely need to focus on close ups but still had fun using all the special effects, filters and borders. 

My life at the gym....pretty fun to watch Mitchell!

So grateful that I am NOT a Scout Leader...my hats off  to them!
